Using and Infarred Camera in Beekeeping

 I recently purchased a FLIR TG165 Infrared Camera. These devices are helpful in locating the colony during the winter. The image on the left is a picture of one of my Apimaye Hives. The honey super (top box) seems to have allot of bees. Since the Apimaye hive is insulated you won't see bright orange. The image on the top is the same hive but just from the honey super (top box) to the top cover. Above the hive is showing my parents house. You can see where heat escapes from all the windows of the house. Enjoy.
